Breath & Silence Immersion

with Gretchen Mills

With nature as our platform and inspiration, and the teachings of yoga, breath, and silence as our guides, we will dive deep into the traditional yogic texts, the nature of Self and the experience of silence within.

This course will deepen your practice as a yoga practitioner and add depth to your knowledge base as a yoga teacher.

This immersion begins on the evening of October 6th and concludes mid-day October 8th. If you can’t stay for the entire immersion, you can purchase a day participation pass and enjoy 1 full day of programming on October 7th OR just join us for 1 of the 4 special sessions described in the agenda and flyer. There are options to stay at NewVida Preserve or to commute. Lunch and dinner family style meals are included.

  • 2:00pm - You are welcome to check in and get settled into your room, walk the grounds, and explore the beautiful land at New Vida.

    6:45-7:45pm -Introduction/Orientation. Special Session: Purifying the Senses with Breath andNature.

    7:45-9:00pm– Dinner, locally sourced, delicious family style meal.

  • 7-8:45am - Guided Half Ashtanga Primary Series, followed by breath practice to purify the body and mind.

    8:45-10:00am - Breakfast. You are invited to find your own breakfast. Options include going to the bistro at New Vida, bringing your own food, or exploring local options.

    10-11:15am - Guided Nature meditation walk and silence practice.

    11:15-12:45pm -Special Session: Anatomy of the Respiratory & Subtle Body.

    1-2:00pm - Lunch, locally sourced, delicious family style meal.

    2:15-4:15pm - Special Session: Our Health Informs Our Breathing Practice.

    4:15-5:00pm - Self Guided Nature Walk and Meditation

    5:00-6:15pm - Lecture: Ayurveda Informs Our Breathing Practice

    6:15-7:15pm - Japa Meditation & Breath Practice into Yoga Nidra.

    7:30-8:30pm - Dinner, locally sourced, delicious family style meal.

  • 7:15-9am - An integrated, cleansing morning practice combining many of the tools developed throughout the retreat. This practice will consist of Guided Half Ashtanga Primary Series, breathing sequence, and silent meditation.

    9-10am - Breakfast. You are invited to find your own breakfast. Options include going to the bistro at New Vida, bringing your own food, or exploring local options.

    10-11am - Special Session: Silence as Prayer
